You Smell Like Dinner Sookie reunites with Tara and seeks a solution to a vexing real-estate problem. Meanwhile, Bill flashes back to his past and informs Eric of a local coven whose recent experiments could become a problem for the vampire community; Jason receives some unorthodox medical attention; Sam learns more about Luna's demons; and Jessica struggles with her cravings for human blood.
It is a great work of direction and writing on an HBO series. The show features a very straightforward premise in a very uniquely realistic environment. Vampires occur, and they do feast upon human blood, but recently the invention of a synthetic blood called Tru Bloodstream has allowed vampires to emerge from hiding and try to integrate into modern society, as they no longer must feed on humans. They aren’t supernatural and stuff like crosses and holy water don’t hurt them, but physically while they resemble humans they have unique characteristics, like growing old, increased strength and swiftness, and a severe aversion to help sunlight. Also, due to the truth that their neurons do not really fire and their hearts usually do not beat, they are, for those intents and purposes, your walking dead.
Just like normal American society, even so, being a new group gets the serious disadvantage of ostracizing all of them and keeping them through integrating into society while normal citizens. The show draws quite a solid parallel to the actual struggle of LGBT citizens wanting to integrate into society… sometimes with all the subtlety of a blunt spoon. The characters are usually what really make this show interesting though. Sookie Stackhouse, competed by Anna Paquin regarding XMen fame, is a waitress in a very town in Louisiana the spot that the show takes place, who has the capacity to read minds. She meets a vampire of their restaurant for the very first time, however, and can’t understand his mind. The vampire, Bill, is a former resident in the town whose family line has died out, making him the proprietor of the house which he possessed… 170 years ago in the Civil War. He is trying to create a full effort to integrate into society and eventually he and Sookie adore each other.
